Greenwood PTCO Funds
Where does the money go?
In addition to the amazing teachers and staff at Greenwood Elementary, the generosity year over year of our Greenwood community has enabled our school to provide the excellent education and learning environment that Greenwood has come to be known for.
The large majority of PTCO funds go toward the annual salaries of Greenwood's awesome Teacher's Assistants who do so much to help our teachers, staff, and students. We also host multiple events throughout the year, including Greenwood Gatherings like Trunk or Treat, the Mother/Son and Father/Daughter events, and the semi-annual Auction. Plus, every year, the PTCO hosts a grant cycle where teachers and staff are able to submit requests for large items for their classrooms, like computers, this year's microphones/sound systems for each of the teachers, alternative desk options, and technology. We also provide each grade a standard school supply budget and put on multiple teacher appreciation events throughout the year.
The largest fundraiser for the PTCO is the semi-annual live Auction, which unfortunately, we have not been able to host for the last two years in a row. Because of that, the PTCO is short of budget by about $100,000 over the last two years. In response, the PTCO made several cuts to its normal annual expenditures both last year and this year. Despite those cuts, even if we meet our Online Auction goal, we will still be short about $15,000 from being able to earmark our anticipated TA Salaries for next year. We therefore ask you, our Greenwood Community, to help us "Bridge the Gap." We are hopeful this year's online auction will be a success, but on top of the wonderful items you will get to bid on, please also consider making a direct donation to the Greenwood PTCO through the link below.
